Prospect Plantation is boasting one of the most unique and
captivating tours worldwide, Prospect Plantation Tours is proud to be
home to Jamaica’s first and only Camel Trekking Safari Experience. The
Safari promises both to be entertaining as well as educational in the
same breath.
Prospect Plantation is an agricultural property established in the 18th Century and located near Ocho Rios, Jamaica. Take a tractor drawn Jitney and experience a working Jamaican Plantation, where you will see bananas, cassava, sugar cane, coffee, all spice and many other crops! You will see the magnificent White River Gorge - a spectacular view. Jamaica's first hydro-electric power station was built here by Sir Harold Mitchell.
On this privately owned 18th Century 1000-acre estate, while you
ride our open aired carriage, you will pass locally grown crops,
perhaps stopping for a freshly cut coconut; you can even have your
picture taken of yourself feeding the ostriches or camels.

Once you arrive at the Camel Park, camel trainers will give you a
brief orientation and background on each of the camels you will be
interacting with. Feel free just to observe, cuddle or take your photo
with one of our friendly camels. Experience an amazing Camel Trek Trail
with your new companion and see how docile and gentle your new friend
is as you trek the amazing countryside.
Hear Stories of yesterday as you stroll the fort that has become a great house where Kings and Queens and Presidents have all dined. See the largest collection of Tortoise Combs in the world. Wander the Great House Garden.
