Experience Aruba's stunning undersea world on the SEAWORLD EXPLORER, the unique cruising undersea observatory brought to you by Atlantis Adventures.
The Seaworld Explorer is a state of the art semi submarine developed in Australia for use on the Great Barrier Reef. This vessel remains above sea level at all times, while its hull, 5 feet below the surface, provides spectacular viewing of the Arashi Coral Reef, abundant sea life and the famous WWII German shipwreck, 'The Antilla'. Ideal for persons of all ages.
Now it's time to discover the undiscovered Aruba! The vessel does not submerge, you descend into the hull of the vessel and sit in air conditioned comfort five feet below the surface, observing underwater gardens, coral reefs and colorful fish through large, clear glass windows. As you marvel at this paradise beneath the waves, our diver swims by your window surrounded by schools of feeding fish (keep an eye peeled for the fascinating green and moray eels!)
Your journey begins at the Pelican Pier located on the beach at The Holiday Inn Resort where you board a transfer boat that takes you to the Seaworld Explorer waiting near the renowned Arashi Reef. From there, the Seaworld Explorer descends to the Antilla, the largest wreck in the Caribbean. This 440-foot German freighter was destroyed during World War II and is the largest wreck in the Caribbean. The Seaworld Explorer captain will take you within inches of the wreck giving you a first hand account of just how impressive the Antilla is. Partially submerged, this huge ship lies on her side in 60 feet of water; providing a resting place for passing pelicans and home to a wide variety of fish. Your guide will entertain you with educational and informative narrative about the ship's history and the various species of marine you will see. The final portion of your journey is a relaxing cruise to shore.
